Life’s a Portobello Beach Race

Each year Portobello running club aims to host a race along the dunes of Portobello beach and promenade.

This is a similar  route to last year and the race will be all on the sand. Approximate length is 4 miles. The start is on the beach immediately below the registration. You will head east along the beach, turn at a marker at the pumping station at the Joppa end, run back along the whole length of the beach to turn round a marker below the Cat and Dog Home with the finish line back where you started. The race is timed to coincide with near low-tide. You will have to either climb over the groynes or be prepared to run round the seaward end – you may get your feet wet.

All net sales proceeds raised from the race will be donated to Towerbank Primary School in Portobello to support equal access for all children to extra-curricular activities.

This years race will be held on 08/09/2024.
